Man City is renowned for having some of the best players in the world. This list looks at the top five best players to have ever graced the Etihad Stadium. Here, we take a look at five of their most influential stars.
1. Sergio Agüero:
The Argentinian striker is Man City’s all-time leading goal scorer and has been an integral part of their success since joining in 2011. His ability to score and create goals is second to none and he has become one of the most feared strikers in Premier League history. He has won the Premier League Golden Boot, the PFA Player of the Year award and four Premier League titles with Man City.
2. Kevin De Bruyne:
The Belgian midfielder is a true box-to-box player who can control the tempo of games. His passing ability is superb and he has been a catalyst in helping Man City to many trophies since joining in 2015. He was named as PFA Player of the Year in 2018/19 and has won two Premier League titles, one FA Cup and four League Cups during his time at the club.
3. Vincent Kompany:
The former captain was central to Man City’s success during his 11 years at the club. As well as being a leader on and off the pitch, his defensive qualities were second to none. He won four Premier League titles, two FA Cups and four League Cups during his time there.
4. David Silva:
The Spanish midfielder was an absolute maestro in the Man City midfield for over ten years. His vision, technique and composure on the ball made him one of the most important players during their period of success which saw them win four Premier League titles, five League Cups and two FA Cups.
5. Yaya Touré:
The powerful Ivorian midfielder was instrumental in Man City’s title wins in 2011/12 and 2013/14. His box-to-box ability was invaluable and also helped them win two League Cups and one FA Cup during his time with the club. He was named African Footballer of the Year three times whilst at Man City.
